Our dear beloved Prof. Fred Opio Ekong, Founder Member of CPAR Uganda and Vice Chair of the CPAR Uganda Board of Directors, may your soul rest in eternal peace, we pray.

When we heard that you had been involved in a very bad car accident we rushed to your side and found you resting in comma at The International Hospital Kampala. We moved from no hope at all to some hope for you remained stable but in critical condition. May he heal quickly, we prayed.

We made a contribution of UGX 5,000,000 (five million Uganda shillings) for your treatment. We are fully aware that our contribution does not begin to match your contribution to humanity. You were among the rare genuine citizens of Uganda, of Africa and of the world. You were a good man. Your contribution to CPAR Uganda, the people of Uganda, of Africa and of the world was huge. May our Lord God grant us the wisdom to celebrate your life, we pray.

In your memory, may your CPAR Uganda family find the courage to continue your work and to emulate your good life, we pray.

We join Jennifer and your whole family in prayer that God’s Holy Spirit prevails over them.

  1. Indeed, you were that Ugandan with the now very rare qualities of integrity, hard work, honesty, commitment, wit and working for no payment when it came to giving back to society, to NGOs such as Land and Equity Movement in Uganda – LEMU. May God keep your family blessed; May he show you your room in Heaven. We love you and we miss you.
