“I would love to be someone and do something for my community,” this was my dream, but I did not know exactly what it was I should be or do. CPAR Uganda Ltd has done it for me by helping me achieve that dream of being an inspiration to members of my community.
Gumkit Ann Parlaker at her shoe shop at Uhuru Bar in Lira City. Whereas, she lives in Kakoge A in Ojwina Division in Lira City, her ancestral village is Bobi Central in Kitugum-Matidi Sub-County in Cwaa East County in Kitgum District. She is a student at Lira University, pursuing studies (on the weekend programme) for the award of a Bachelor in Public Administration and Management degree. She is also our Volunteer Administrative Assistant based at our Lira Learning Centre.
My experience during the field visit from the Managing Director and her team at my shop and at our home in Kakoge was amazingly beautiful. I feel blessed to be part of this life changing journey under our “Mentoring Young Adults into Innovators against Poverty” project.
