Congratulations to our Board Chair, Professor Doctor Christopher Garimoi Orach on his appointment as the Vice Chair of the Scientific Committee of Integrated Research on Disaster Risk (IRDR).

“IRDR’s mission is to mobilize science for the reduction of all types of disaster risk; building resilience and reducing vulnerability by integrating risk science with climate change adaptation and mitigation and sustainable development.

In his role as Vice Chair of the IRDR Scientific Committee, Prof. Dr. Orach will provide strategic leadership and guidance to IRDR. With the intention to significantly contribute towards IRDR achieving its aims:

“To usher in an inclusive, safe and sustainable world by promoting a better understanding of disaster risk and the effective use of risk science in decision-making.”

We are excited and delighted for our Board Chair, for CPAR Uganda and for the disadvantaged communities CPAR Uganda strives to serve. There is no doubt that in execution of his role in IRDR, Prof. Dr. Orach will contribute to achievement of the objectives for which CPAR Uganda was established:
