If we, at CPAR Uganda, won the lottery, we would invest our winnings, the money, in our Gulu Medical Centre which we are establishing in partnership with our Associate, Dr. Robert Kidega, a medical doctor.
Dr. Kidega has made significant progress renovating and modifying our Gulu property that is located on Plot 30, Gulu Avenue, Gulu City to host our medical centre,
We are excited that as at the end of December 2024, the permanent perimeter wall for our medical centre in establishment was near completed. And that the buildings are now ready to be fitted with the necessary furniture and equipment for a healthcare facility.
We welcome all the help that we can get to acquire especially so the necessary medical machines. Donations in cash and or in kind (new or used equipment still in good functional condition) we welcome.
PLEASE CONTACTS US TO MAKE A DONATION AND/OR A RECOMMENDATION
It is our plan, through our Gulu Medical Centre to:
- Provide medical services
- Organize and hold medical camps
- Conduct research on determinants of health
- Disseminate findings from empirical research on determinants of health
- Advocate for and support good public health practices and services provision
Among the neglected medical services in Uganda, for example, is provision of eye care services.
“In Uganda, for example, there is only one ophthalmologist for every one million people—far less than the recommended minimum ratio. The country needs about 96 more ophthalmologists. As a result, communities often have limited access to effective treatment for more serious eye diseases.” Christian Blind Mission (cbm)
This is among the reasons why CPAR Uganda is raising funds in order to enable us to contribute towards preventing preventable blindness in Uganda. According to the Uganda Ministry of Health, for example, nearly 60 percent of blindness cases are due to cataracts, a condition that can be treated.
And so, in support of poor rural communities in Uganda to lead a better quality of life that is unimpeded by visual impairment, we invite you to please consider making a donation to our project: “Restore eye sight & worth of rural poor in Uganda.”

Indeed, among the medical camps that we will prioritize to regularly organize and hold at our Gulu Medical Centre, when it is up and running, are those that will provide eye care services.

If we won the lottery, we would delight in fulfilling our vision of building healthy communities in Uganda through contributing towards curative health care services; as well as preventative health care services through our Gulu Medical Centre.
