Join us in celebrating power of the crowd

This week, we are inviting you to join us in celebrating the power of small acts of generosity for GlobalGiving’s Little by Little campaign.

From today until matching funds run out, GlobalGiving will match ALL online donations up to $50 (Ugx 185K) at 50 percent.

  • Your $10 (Ugx 37K) donation turns into $15 (Ugx 55K).
  • Your $30 (Ugx 110K) donation turns into $45 (Ugx 165K).

Your gift today will support:

Eyecare medical workers with materials, medications and tools that they need to “Restore Eyesight and Worth of Rural Poor in Uganda.” To learn more and to donate, click here: www.goto.gg/61857.

Knowledge generation and mentoring of youth from disadvantaged backgrounds to “End 90,000 People getting TB Annually in Uganda.” To learn more and to donate, click here www.goto.gg/68772.

“Uganda Women’s Economic Empowerment Loan Fund” to access financial literacy and credit to disadvantaged women running micro and small businesses for their livelihoods. To learn more and to donate, click here: www.goto.gg/55825.

When we all work together, there’s no limit to what we can do—but don’t take our word for it.

The delight of GAF Eye Health Foundation, communicated to us by their leader, Wekhwanya Ambrose, an Ophthalmic Clinical Officer, on receiving 100 pairs of Foster Grant Quality Reading Glasses that we donated, is humbling and moving.

From the video, we are assured when GAF next holds a health camp, members of poor, marginalized and under-served communities in Namisindwa District, in Eastern Uganda, who are afflicted with presbyopia will have their “blindness dispelled.”

“Presbyopia comes as a result of age and we correct it using reading glasses,” Ambrose explains. The meaning of our donation is that 100 senior citizens with eyesight challenges while poor, will be gifted a pair of eye glasses, after an eye checkup by medical personnel, and they will “have better vision, in terms of reading.”

Without your support, these 100 senior citizens with eyesight challenges while poor, like thousands of Ugandans from disadvantaged communities, would have continued living in deprivation, due to poor eyesight. Your gift of sight to them will ensure their quality of life is improved.

We can build healthy communities in Uganda with your generosity.

Thank you for helping us enable disadvantage communities restore their livelihoods and live better and dignified lives.
