Given by Dr. Gladys Atto, the TEDx Entebbe talk that so inspired us into action is now available online.

With humility and humanely, Doctor Atto serves Karamoja’s 2.8 million marginalized poor people, who should be served by at least four eye doctors.
Sensing that shame inhibits the poor from seeking eye care services at a hospital, her team uses community outreaches to do cataract surgeries – restoring sight and preventing blindness in thousands of poor people.
Millions in Uganda are visually impaired and thousands blind. Doctor Atto’s compassionate work needs support and replication to reach many more afflicted.
This is how learning about her and her work inspired our “Restore eye sight & worth of rural poor in Uganda” project.
