Healthy communities in Uganda is our vision.
Indeed, we are on a strategic mission to support healthy lives in the poorest region of Uganda, the Greater Northern Region, that is composed of the seven sub-regions of:
- Acholi
- Bukedi
- Karamoja
- Lango
- Madi
- Acholi
- Teso
- West Nile
The majority of the poor in Uganda are in its Greater Northern Region – including Karamoja sub-region which has the highest proportion of its population, 62.9%, that is food poor; double the national average of the proportion of food poor Ugandans.

We, at CPAR Uganda, strive to facilitate healthy communities by stimulating the development, dissemination, and widespread application of technologies that are suitable for conditions in Uganda.
Our focus is preventative healthcare.
We contribute towards enhancing endowments so that disadvantaged communities become self-reliant and are able to provide for themselves their basic needs; including becoming food secure.
Attaining food security facilitates healthy lives
Healthy and balanced diets prevent many illnesses, therefore reducing expenditure in costly curative healthcare services.
Healthy people are productive – at school and at work – contributing to providing for their households, building their respective communities, and Uganda as a whole. You get the gist …
