“I stood at the taxi stage, anxious, excited, unsure, a place I have never been, that I only knew through the message in my inbox. When I finally arrived at Dr. Paul Hargrave Memorial Centre, the compound was calm. I thought, many stories have passed through this gate. Inside the hall, participants gathered. Some taking notes others whispering quietly. This was a moment of realization, community transformation begins with how we engage each other, how we listen, participate and respond…,” writes Ecweru
He writes of his first day at the CPAR Youth Media Training, which started last month, November 2025, training youth, such as he into Media Change Agent who are skilled behavioural change communicators.
Four weeks of intensive residential training later, from 1st December 2025, he embarks on the second part of his training journey – fieldwork. Applying and practicing lessons learned for the benefit of the community among which he lives.
