Away from the choking dust from road construction, ‘development’, today I woke to the chirping of birds nested in the lush green trees as our Dr. Paul David Hargrave Memorial Centre in Lira City.
Giddy I am formally on-boarding our staff assembling today and who will execute our joint Human Development Project with Canadian Physicians for Aid and Relief, made possible by a legacy grant from kin of late Dr. Paul David Hargrave.
It is exciting to activate our trusted former staff and some of our past beneficiaries to come back on duty to work with us in the delivery of this project.
A project for which we endeavor to ensure, both the direct beneficiaries and service providers are mostly those who are of or have significant interest in Greater Northern Uganda – West Nile, Madi, Acholi, Lango, Teso, Karamoja and Bukedi.
Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between CPAR Uganda and CPAR. First transfer of funds has arrived for the project inception quarter – July to September.
First order of business, after formally on-boarding staff, is prepping the centre to host training of change agents in Media for Development, Self-Reliant Participatory Development, and Research.
