“Here at CPAR Uganda, I am doing well with other students. I am ready to move on with work and I am working with my fellows to improve our communication skills. But this screeching sound of the taxis still echoing, as I stood isolated in Lira Park, a sinking feeling replacing the earlier excitement of arrival. It is really memorable, I was truly alone, not knowing where to go and the sun had started to descend. Hmmmmm! It was Sunday morning, when I arrived in Lira by bus, it was a market day which made the place very busy…,” writes Nasasiira.
She wrote of her journey to Dr. Paul Hargrave Memorial Center in Lira City, where last month, November 2025, she began her ongoing training as a Media Change Agent who is skilled as a behavioral change communicator.
Four weeks of intensive residential training later, today, 1st December 2025, she embarks on the second part of her training journey – fieldwork. Applying and practicing lessons learned for the benefit of the community among which she lives.
Her exciting human development journey would have not been possible without the generous legacy grant from kin of late Dr. Paul Hargrave via Canadian Physicians for Aid and Relief (CPAR).
