When our mission is happening we are happy

Stimulate the development, dissemination and widespread application of technologies suitable for Uganda is the mission of CPAR Uganda.

“The Queen’s Fool,” a novel by Philippa Gregory the “bestselling author of The Other Boleyn Girl” is in our library at the Dr. Paul Hargrave Memorial Centre in Lira City in Northern Uganda.

The copy of the novel that we have was the one gifted by The Odell’s & Banrian’s to Christine.

Stimulate the development, dissemination and widespread application of technologies suitable for Uganda is the mission of CPAR Uganda

How it ended up in the CPAR Uganda library is amazing, and especially so the fact that it has obviously preserved for decades.

Anyway, back to answering today’s daily writing prompt: “When are you most happy?”

It has been a minute, but certainly we still hold intent to promote the culture of reading among Ugandans, particularly among youth from disadvantaged backgrounds resident in our geography of operation.

After all, we are on a mission to stimulate the development, dissemination, and widespread application of technologies suitable and adaptable to the social, cultural and economic conditions of Uganda.

In order to achieve our mission we necessarily should have access to information. One of the more efficient ways in which to access information is to read.

Even if it be reading for relaxation and entertainment, including fiction. There are opportunities for new ideas and inspiration for suitable technologies to emerge from reading fiction, some of us are convinced.

Every time we notice and feel our mission is happening, including seeing someone has picked up a book from our library to read, we are most happy.
