Celebrating our good women and men in uniform, who are serving on the Uganda Police Force and who enable us to maintain our sanity, mental health, therefore good health, while we are victims of crime and have sought the intervention of the Police.
Specifically, today, on World Health Day, it is ASP Iradukunda Edith, Community Liaison Officer, Office of Community Affairs, Divisional Police Headquarters, Entebbe Police Station, who deserves flowers.
I was delighted to bump into her yesterday, in church, as Church of Uganda Bishop Moses Banja of Namirembe Diocese officiated the official installation of Venerated Canon Emmanuel Kenneth Ssewanyana as the eighth Archdeacon of Entebbe Archdeaconry.
How she blended in and heartily participated in worshiping with her fellow Christians, you would forget that she, a Police Office, was on duty at St. Mark Church of Uganda, Entebbe Archdeaconry, on Sunday, 6th April 2025.
Smartly dressed in her uniform, on which the fact that she is in middle-management within the Police (three stars) could not be mistaken. Seeing her in uniform easily and freely blending in with other worshipers was excellent public relations for the Police.
And that is not all I know about her. I have experienced her professionalism, firmness and kindness as a Police Officer. But the Case files: CRB 423/2022; SD REF 13/06/04/2023 and 54/09/03/2024 are still under Police Investigation so I will not share too much detail here.
I would like to believe that I am not the only one and so I say, thank you ASP Iradukunda, for contributing to my good mental health, through your professionalism and for all other victims of crime that you have handled in a professional and kind manner.
