May Easter be filled with acts of generosity & kindness

The Little by Little campaign is GlobalGiving’s act of kindness in which it is matching 50 percent donations up to US$ 50 (Ug. shs. 200,000). It is not too late, there are still 16 more hours left before the campaign ends today, Good Friday, 7th April 2023, at midnight (Uganda time).

Projects by two young adults who are benefiting from our mentoring programme are eligible and would appreciate being beneficiary of your Easter 2023 charitable donations which in addition unlock access to the GlobalGiving matching funds. The two projects are:

A youthful vendor installing security iron sheets atop our Entebbe liaison office perimeter wall.

Welding apprenticeships for 25 youth from disadvantaged communities in Lango Sub-Region in Northern Uganda. We are fundraising in order to buy welding equipment and machines to be used for the apprenticeship programme. Inbuilt in the programme is long term sustainability. The equipment and machines will be used for years to come and in a manner that generates funds for their maintenance and replacement. It is expected that the beneficiary innovator will continue to offer apprenticeships in the longer-term. To learn more and to donate, click here.

Mentoring Programme – During 2023, CPAR Uganda is committed to continue fundraising and implementing our programme to mentor young adults into innovators against poverty in their respective communities. And we will continue to do so in innovative ways.

Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) – Planing is advanced stages for CPAR Uganda to lunch a programme intended to push back and fight against SGBV. With a specific focus on providing spaces for victims of SGBV to speak out and speak up; in the expectation that it will facilitate healing for them; while at the same time generate empirical qualitative data on determinants and drivers of SGBV.

Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights – Alongside the SGBV programming, hopefully in partnership with our sister organisation, Canadian Physicians for Aid and Relief (CPAR), in 2023, CPAR Uganda will implement a Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights programme.

Healthcare Services – Renovation and modification of our Gulu Centre on Plot 30 Gulu Avenue has begun. It is expected that by the second half of 2023 the CPAR Uganda healthcare facility will be functional with an emphasis on diagnostics. We need help to acquire the necessary diagnostic equipment, including in-kind donations.

Learning Centre – With effect from 11th April 2023, two young adult innovators under our mentorship, will take charge of managing and running our Lira Learning Centre. We invite you to support them through referrals and patronage – hire and use the 100+ sitter hall for training and meetings; the reading room; services from the kitchen and business centre.
