For some, especially those responsible for producing financial reports and filing income tax returns with the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), last week was a nerve racking busy week. The deadline to file income tax returns was last Friday, 30th June.
Well, for us at CPAR Uganda, what used to be a daunting task is no longer as such, since Ms. Marianne Nkwanzi became our Associate Expert Volunteer. We have come a long way.
The first time we reached out to her, our financial report was fairly muddled and not well presented. Marianne patiently explained to us how best to present our financial report, especially so for the purpose of filing income tax returns for a nonprofit organisation.
Following her advice, we made changes to our organisations “Chart of Accounts” in the computer accounting package that we use, “Quick Books”.
The changes that we made following Marianne’s advice have significantly reduced our bookkeeping time – in terms of coding, processing, internal auditing and generating user-friendly reports.

We like the fact that Marianne is a strong Christian woman of valor who remains steadfast in doing right always.
And among the right she is doing is assisting CPAR Uganda with financial services, especially in handling our relationship with the tax body, URA. Always perfectly filing our several tax returns and in a timely manner, as soon as she gets the information from us.
Marianne holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) Degree in Accounting and Taxation from the University of Mysore; and has credentials in data analysis using Excel. She is Head of Operations of Owaraga Still & Motion Group.
We are forever indebted to her for finding time in her busy schedule to voluntarily support and assist our nonprofit with her expertise. THANK YOU MARIANNE.
