Get own hands dirty & leads by example

What makes a good leader?

She who is willing to get her own proverbial hands dirty and lead by example.

These past couple of weeks I have watched her in amazement as she begins to professionally establish food gardens in the front yard of our Dr. Paul Hargrave Memorial Center in Lira City.

Nursery beds done. Until the rains come, she is watering them with a handheld can. She wakes early morning to do so and repeats in the evening.

Atyang establishes nursery beds

And in-between she goes about fulfilling all her other responsibilities. Including participating in our ongoing training of youth from disadvantaged backgrounds in Financial Management.

She played a key role of doing the mobilization of participants and is greatly assisting the training team, encouraging and assuring her fellow learners are actively participating.

Atyang, a beneficiary of our Dr. Paul Hargrave Memorial Center Human Development Project is she.
