Longest cassava in the world

Fellow Ugandans, surprise, surprise, there is an official record in the Guinness World Records of the longest cassava in the world:

The world’s longest cassava root (yuca) measured 2.46 m (8ft 10 in) on 24 December 2000 when it was pulled from the ground by its grower, Camilo Outerino from his garden in Hialeah, Florida, USA.

Things like this, longest cassava in the world, should be the things taught in our schools, me thinks.

I do not have knowledge of us, as Ugandans, taking the time to confirm our claim for having produced in Teso the longest cassava in the world. If so, I am delighted.

If not, which I think is the more likely, I advocate that we should have and in future we should endeavor to do so.

The only way we get to this point, is when things like this are prioritized in the content of our public school syllabus.
