My favorite food is readily available from CPAR’s Kitchen, the reason why it is my favorite.
Currently, run by Akello, CPAR’s Kitchen offers mostly foods and meals cooked in the cuisine of Luo – Acholi and Nilotic people – especially, Lango and Iteso. And I love it.

I like the availability of freshly made juices at CPAR’s Kitchen. They have lemon trees, enabling them all year round to offer fresh lemon juice.

And during mango and orange seasons, they are able to provide those too.
I love that the drinking water with which juices at CPAR’s Kitchen are mixed is smoked water. Yes, they boil the water and cool it in a smoked pot.
And so, at CPAR’s Kitchen, drinking water is available from the pot, or that which was taken from the pot and refrigerated. As Ugandans say, “pot water” is available.

I must admit that way back in the 1990s when I first visited Lira City, my favorite restaurant was Mabrook. Yes, because it offers Ugandan dishes. I am delighted that Mabrook continues to be in business even now.
When not in Lira, my other city is the Capital, Kampala. And there, my favorite restaurant is House of Olel. Why? It also offers Ugandan dishes.

Ugandan cuisine of our different beautiful cultures of the 65 first nations of Uganda is my ‘cup of tea’, so to speak.
