Effective social media presence

Giving Heart wrote to us thus:

“Hi Norah! I am a mentor for environmental initiatives. I read about Mutuba trees in your organisation Facebook page (CPAR Uganda Ltd’s Healthy Dignified Lives), and I got pretty interested.“

Posts on Mutuba trees that we prior shared onto our Facebook page include:

Value of Mutuba Trees (a short read through this link)

Why aren’t Mutuba Trees growing all over Uganda? (a short read through this link)

50 year old Mutuba Tree (a short read through this link)

Giving Heart further inquired:

I would like to discuss with you sometime, to see if you have a project on tree and agroforestry initiatives and if you can help with that fundraising online. I can help you.

And I responded:

It is our dream to turn one of our CPAR Uganda learning centres into a model genuine agroforestry centre (agroforestry as in “agriculture incorporating the cultivation of trees”), but we really don’t know where to start.

I would love to give it a try.

Our challenge would be the establishment investment and thereafter it should operate as a social enterprise.

Yes, Giving Heart and I have never met physically and he who reached out to me via Facebook messenger is non-Ugandan. According to his profile, he lives in India.

However, we are both members of a Facebook forum of elite philanthropists and project leaders of charitable and development interventions.

Yap, zoom meetings have been scheduled and a new challenge has begun. Will keep you posted!
